The University of Dayton has two major business competitions: Future Flyer Pitch Competition and Flyer Pitch Competition. The difference is that the Future Flyer Pitch is for high school seniors that plan to attend the University of Dayton. Last year, when I was a high school senior, I saw a flyer from the Future Flyer Pitch Competition and I was really interested. I read the instructions and decided to participate in the competition. For the first round, I had to create a two-minute video presenting a problem in my local community and solving it. After dedicating long hours of work to the video I submitted it and in January received a letter saying that I passed to the second round. The second round consisted of attending the University of Dayton and presenting a two-minute live pitch. For this round, I had to create a product or service that promoted entrepreneurial thinking among young students. I decided to create a really cool app that matched future professionals with retired professionals. I dedicated a lot of hours to this app and went to the University of Dayton in April and presented my pitch. The day of the pitch, after the competition, there was a banquet for all the participants. There, the winners were announced and received the award. I received the second place award and was extremely happy with the results. I thank my mom and dad for helping me and for believing in my product. Participating was a really challenging experience, but it was definitely worth the time and results.
